About This Site

My name is Joe Hitchens and I created this website. My wife Christi was born in 1965 and has had primary lymphedema in her right leg since the age of 10.

I created this site with the hope of acquiring information on health insurance companies that would pay for massage therapy and/or supplies for Christi, while simultaneously providing that same information to others.

The original questionnaire was set up years ago at approximately the same time that Christi and I went to the Vodder clinic in Walchsee, Austria where she received intensive MLD treatment. She achieved a dramatic reduction in the size of her leg even after so many years with only a compression garment. As a result of this experience, we both became firm believers in MLD/CDPT as the only currently available treatment for lymphedema that is also safe and effective.

I hope that over time this site will become a widely used and valuable resource for people all over the world with lymphedema.

Please help by filling out the questionnaire and feel free to make any suggestions on how to improve the site by posting your ideas on the message board.
